If you are like most, when you want a brownie you want THE REAL BROWNIE, the decadent brownie that you call brownie.
Not a brownie which has its genuine ingredients replaced with healthier “wannabe -in-a-brownie” ingredients.
Let me tell you, this is NO imitation brownie…
I had dozens of people sample it… from little kids, big kids, teens, health-nuts, can’t stand anything healthy-nuts, doctors, mums, dads, entrepreneurs, sugar cravers, people who love chocolate …. to people who can’t stand anything chocolate.
And I have had one consensus…
This is real stuff. This is the REAL BROWNIE. It tastes too good to be healthy.
Now I want you to sample it. As they say proof lies in the pudding, give it a try, comment and tell me what you think.
Can I ask you a favor, when you bake it and share it, please don’t disclose the ingredients before your family and friends have tasted it… will you do this for me … please?
Here is the recipe:
15 oz can black beans, rinsed and drained ( look for a BPA free can or cook your own beans)
3 eggs or 9 tablespoons boiled “flax gel egg replacement” (for Vegan Brownies)
3 Tbsp. coconut oil + little extra for greasing the baking pan ( don’t use Extra Virgin Coconut oil if you don’t like bounty bars or taste of chocolate and coconut together )
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/4 tsp Himalayan or sea salt
3 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 tsp aluminum free baking powder (for more cake-like brownies)
3/4 cup honey or maple syrup
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Grease 8×8 square baking dishes with coconut oil. Combine the black beans, eggs, oil, cocoa powder, salt, vanilla extract, honey, in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven until the top is dry and the edges start to pull away from the sides of the pan, about 25- 30 minutes.
Disclaimer: this is not my own creation… there are lots of versions on the internet. I am sharing the version I baked. I was introduced to concept of bean-being-in-a-brownie by Veronica and Tara! Thank you!!! Brownie will never be the same for me!

Thank you for the recipe! When I tasted – I couldn’t believe that is made with beans! I definitely going to cook it myself! Happy cooking!
Thank you! Try the recipe! You can use Adzuki Beans instead of Black beans too!
I have made this twice…it’s so moist and delicious
