Green Orange Juice

Do you love your Sunday morning glass of OJ? Do you feel your energies dip after the drink?

How about a glass of green* OJ? ( I can hear you say “ WHAT? GREEN?”)

If you were closer to my kitchen, I would offer you a taste and I can tell you not only would you go.. Nom Nom and want some more, but once you heard the nutritional punch the juice has you will not go back to your usual glass of OJ.

The oranges are packed with Vitamin C, the greens with Vitamin A, K, C, Calcium, iron, almond milk adds the protein that stabilizes the blood sugar-so more sugar high or low!

and….. Wheat grass… where should I begin: it boosts immunity; It is a powerful concentrated liquid nutrient. Two ounces of wheatgrass juice has the nutritional equivalent of five pounds of the best raw organic vegetables. Wheatgrass is also a powerful detoxifier, especially of the liver and blood. It helps neutralize toxins and environmental pollutants in the body.

Do you need more convincing?

Green O.J.

Serves 2

2 cups fresh squeezed orange juice (or 4 large naval oranges)

½ cup unsweetened almond milk

½ cup Wheat grass

2 cups mixed greens (baby spinach, baby kale , Chard)

Blend with a high powered blender. If you are sensitive to oxalates- skip the spinach and the kale.

*If you are new to drinking green drinks start with lesser quantities of green and gradually build it up. If you have a kid/adult who will not eat anything green- an opaque glass with a lid and straw is the answer!
