The last two weeks I have been doing the Seasonal Clean Eating Detox. I needed Pad Thai and this clean eating Detox excludes nuts so peanut or even almonds were out! That is the story of the how the SunButter sauce came into being! I believe in the power of sauces- they can transform plain tasting foods into something exotic, with a spoonful you can journey the tastes of the world. And that’s the promise this sauce holds!
In the last one week I have dipped my green apples slices and Jicama sticks in this, tossed Zucchini noodles and Spaghetti squash for an instant Pad Thai Experience! This is a very versatile sauce share what did you enjoy it with most.
In this picture above- Jicama Sticks with Sunbutter Sauce
6 tablespoons Sunflower seed butter Or SunButter (can use Almond Butter too)
½ teaspoon grated ginger (more of less depending on taste)
2 cloves garlic crushed (more of less depending on taste)
1 teaspoon Sesame Oil
Dash of Raw Honey (optional)
A dash or two Coconut Aminos
Sriracha or any Hot Sauce
6 tablespoon water
Cook garlic and ginger in heated Sesame Oil, stir in the seed/nut butter. Add in the water, dash or two of coconut amino, and sriracha or any other hot sauce. Cook the sauce for a couple of minutes till desired consistency is achieved.
